With the threat of the Minnesota legislature intervening, the Big Ten network, the University of Minnesota and cable television representatives said they're having productive and meaningful talks about ending their current standoff.

On Tuesday, DFL state representative Sheldon Johnson tried to get a Minnesota House subcommittee to approve a bill that would force arbitration between the Big Ten network and Comcast Cable. However, lawyers said that's unconstitutional and the bill was tabled.
