Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt had the first pick in a fantasy-football draft with 10 other U.S. mayors. His first pick? A Minnesota Viking.
No, he didn't pick Brett Favre. He drafted superstar running back Adrian Peterson.
Schmitt said Thursday he wants to have fun with the season but he's in it to win it.
He says he loves his Packers and isn't crazy about Peterson's team, but the running back is a talented player who can put up plenty of fantasy points.
The winning mayor gets $15,000 toward a favorite charity.
Schmitt also picked Minnesota running back Chester Taylor and Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler. His Packers are running back Ryan Grant, kicker Mason Crosby and the defense.
He says he considered drafting Favre so he could bench him.
