Pohlad Turns 90 And Is Still Into The Game

Minneapolis (AP) ― Minnesota Twins owner Carl Pohlad will spend his 90th birthday tomorrow at the Metrodome watching his team start a critical three-game series against the division-leading Chicago White Sox.

General manager Terry Ryan says Pohlad has always been supportive over the years -- even during a recent stretch when the Twins nearly fell out of postseason contention by dropping 22 out of 33 games.

Despite an ailing back, hip, knee and ankle that require a walker or a wheelchair to get around, Pohlad faithfully attends almost every home game. He usually stops by manager Ron Gardenhire's office to chat before the game.

Gardenhire says Pohlad still likes baseball, still likes the Twins and still has lots of fun going to the games.
