Watching Anoka wrestler Jacob Deitchler work out you see the focus of someone looking for his third Minnesota State High School title.
"I get more excited than anything just for the opportunity. And obviously there is some pressure but there's always pressure, so just learning how to handle it," said Deitchler.
Deitchler has had a distinctive advantage at Anoka High School because there is an assistant coach who tutors him that has been exactly where Deitchler wants to go.
That's Brandon Paulson, who has picture featured at Anoka High School because he won a silver medal in the Olympics. He's worked out with the best Anoka has to offer.
"We've had four Olympians here from Anoka and he's the best high school wrestler from Anoka, including myself," said Paulson.
Twenty years ago Jacob's father, Jason, won a state title as a heavyweight at Park Rapids High School. That's added to his learning curve in many ways.
"Sometimes will go at it in the living room and my mom will yell at us cause something always gets knocked over or something like that. He's kind of big so I can't really do anything," said Deitchler.
He watches the University of Minnesota wrestling program closely because he will be a Gopher next year. But for this week it's one more time for the hometown team.
"Coming from Anoka I feel proud, from the tradition, from the coaches, from the opportunities I've had and just from home much I feel I've grown as a person as a wrestler through this program," said Deitchler.
After the state tournament this weekend he will leave Monday to compete in the World Juniors in Bulgaria.
