When we talk about football, it's so easy to overlook the offensive line.
They're basically the only players without any stats to talk about, but one Centennial lineman is an exception.
Centennial senior Andrew Pattock has a special stat -- a 4.0 grade point average.
"This quarter I have college physics, AP calculus and honors Spanish. So, it's kinda tough during football," he said.
Pattock just looks like a football star, something that you might expect for his size -- he's 6'3" and 295 pounds. But you might not expect that he's had straight As since middle school.
He is academically ranked number one in a class of 580.
Pattock said he's making his college decisions based on academics, not sports.
"Well I want to do engineering probably, and not all schools have engineering. So a lot of schools that I've had interest for football in, I can't go there because it doesn't have what I want academically," he said.
He isn't the only player on the team with that kind of problem though. Defensive End Jacob Smith also has a 4.0 and a friendly rivalry with his teammate.
"Pattock and I, we're pretty good. We're happy with where we're at," said Smith.
This week, they are a couple of seniors, getting ready for the biggest football game of the year and trying to avoid getting too distracted in the classroom.
"I've been thinking about it a lot actually. I'm sure it'll get worse as the week goes on. I don't know how I'm going to do it Friday," said Pattock.
"Yeah, it's gonna be tough. This game's big for everybody, so I'll definitely be thinking about it quite a bit," said Smith.
In addition to football, Pattock also excels at another sport. He's the captain of Centennial's golf team.
