May 12 - Daily Soaps Update
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
Here are the daily soap opera summaries for "The Young and the Restless," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "As The World Turns," and "Guiding Light."
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS Victoria is bothered when Nikki gives a project that Victoria wanted to Brad
and Cane. Meanwhile, David loses a big bet. Brad asks David for his money,
but David stalls saying he will have it next week. As their deadline
approaches, Jack, Sharon, Nick and Phyllis clash on what to do about
Restless Style. Although Nick is swamped at the magazine, Victor informs Nick
that he needs to see him now and it can't wait. Jamie suggests to Jack,
Sharon and Phyllis that in order to sell magazines they need to get a new
cover model, and dump Lily. After some fighting, they agree and Jack has an
idea on who to use. Jack makes an executive decision to stop printing the
cover when he has the possibility of booking a celebrity. Nick is completely
against the idea of scrapping the cover, knowing how much the change would
cost them. Sabrina accepts Victor's marriage proposal. Victor offers to
invite Nick, Adam and Victoria to the ranch to announce the proposal to
everyone. Nick and Victoria arrive at the ranch to find Adam, all wondering
what's going on. They are shocked when Victor announces that he and Sabrina are
engaged. Adam and Sabrina have a confrontation about the engagement.
Victoria reveals to Nikki about the engagement and Nikki takes it
surprisingly well. Nikki and David decide to get married as soon as
possible. Later, Victor arrives home to a dinner surprise from Sabrina but
has to rush off to a work dinner instead. Sabrina is left alone. Colleen
explains to Adrian that she is leaving for New York tonight and then on to
China. Later, Adrian learns that his book is officially dead. At the
coffeehouse, Colleen informs Kevin that Adrian's book is dead and Kevin is
thrilled. Kevin tries to cheer her up but only ends up reminding her of the day
that she and Adrian met. Later, Colleen reveals to Brad that she is going
to China. Colleen says goodbye to Lily. Adrian learns that no other
publisher is interested in his book.
THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
Ridge admits to Brooke that he is ready to marry her and no longer has
reservations about her devotion to him. When Ridge asks that they not hold
their wedding at Eric and Donna's house, an argument ensues between him and
Brooke which brings up underlying issues that they have. Stephanie, coming
straight from the wedding and having nowhere else to go, visits Katie in the
hospital. Stephanie shows an unusual vulnerable side as she makes
comparisons about both of
their lives having been turned upside down.
Neither Eric nor Donna is able to enjoy their wedding night as both have
other things on their mind.
AS THE WORLD TURNS
Luke overhears Ameera calling Col. Mayer, and the two fight over her motives
for calling. Luke wonders who Ameera's protecting, and heads off to warn
Noah. Luke and Noah fight over Ameera. Noah confronts her about calling Col.
Mayer. Luke confides to Lucinda that Noah seems to care more about Ameera
than him, when Noah shows up and the two apologize.
Chris wants to know why Alison's avoiding him. Bob tells Chris that Alison's
floundering in the nursing program, and that the next test is crucial. Chris
lets her off the hook in terms of being his girlfriend, and offers to be her
tutor. Chris teaches Alison a mnemonic device to help with her exam.
Janet interrupts Katie and Brad's taping and takes over the cooking segment.
Kim is pleased with the purloined cooking segment, but Katie's furious. Brad
reassures her, saying Janet has to go. Janet, crushed by Brad's dismissal of
her, agrees to pack up and leave town.
Liberty wants to coax Parker into going on another spending spree. Liberty
accuses Janet of getting herself run out of town. Liberty and Janet both put
on brave faces as they say goodbye. Brad puts Janet in a cab to the airport,
and he and Katie finally have a moment alone, melting into a passionate
kiss.
GUIDING LIGHT
Jeffrey and Reva discuss how the movie should end when their houseguest,
Hawk, interrupts them. Reva walks in on Jolene trying her charm on Buzz, but
Jolene turns her attention to Reva and the questions begin again. Reva gives
Lizzie a Mother's Day card from Jonathan and Sarah, along with the return
address from the envelope. Jeffrey confronts Reva about the houseguests, the
movie and gets a call from Ava interrupting them - Olivia is not doing well.
Ava tries to wrestle with the problems Olivia is facing and Jeffrey
apologizes to Reva for running out.
Lizzie and Alan try to get on with business when a magazine with Bill's
picture on the cover tears her attention away. Ava asks Bill for her old job
at Spaulding back. Bill begins to walk Ava to the hospital, when he spots
Lizzie, who leaves before he can talk to her. Bill tries to help Lizzie
carry her bags, but she won't budge to let him in. When Bill sees the bags
contains toddler clothes and her car is packed with Lizzie's suitcases, he
realizes she is going to see Sarah. Lizzie sits outside the Spaulding
building conflicted if she should go in for the meeting or leave town. Beth
finds a wrapped package from Alan with a second pearl for Peyton. Alan plays
a game of solitaire while looking at the Spaulding Enterprises sign that
Beth brought him. Bill starts his meeting but his mind is still on Lizzie.
Meanwhile, Lizzie takes off in her car.
