Retrial In Molotov Cocktail Case Starts Monday

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ― An Austin, Texas, man accused of making and possessing eight Molotov cocktails during the Republican National Convention is getting a new jury trial.

The retrial for David Guy McKay starts Monday in U.S. District Court before Chief Judge Michael Davis.

The jury deciding McKay's first trial deadlocked.

Prosecutors allege the 23-year-old protester was part of an Austin-based group that planned to use incendiary devices to destroy property or injure police during the convention.

McKay has maintained his innocence.

A man charged with him, Bradley Neal Crowder, has pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting possession of an unregistered firearm.
