Trial Starts For Texas Man Charged In RNC Case

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ― A federal trial begins Monday for a Texas man accused of possessing Molotov cocktails during the Republican National Convention in St. Paul.

Prosecutors allege David Guy McKay was part of an Austin-based protest group that planned to use incendiary devices to destroy property or injure police during the convention.

McKay has maintained his innocence.

A man charged with him, Bradley Neal Crowder, has pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting possession of an unregistered firearm. A sentencing date for Crowder has not been set.
