The St. Paul City Council has approved a plan to give $2,000 refunds to bar owners who purchased late-night liquor licenses during the Republican National Convention.

Minneapolis allowed organizations who had already booked events during the RNC before the proposed fee hike to pay the standard rate of $100. Some suburbs charged no extra fee.
The City Council decision came the same day some business owners told the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce that they were frustrated business wasn't better during the convention.
