WCCO Releases Jeanette Trompeter

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ― WCCO-TV news anchor and reporter Jeanette Trompeter is no longer with the television station. WCCO-TV on Monday eliminated Jeanette's position as a weekday 5 p.m. anchor.

Jeanette moved to the Twin Cities in 2005 from KCCI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up in California and had worked there, as well.

Her anchoring and reporting duties at WCCO-TV will be reassigned to other members of the staff.

In a message to the station's staff, Vice President and General Manager Susan Adams Loyd said economic realities during the recession required that she make a very difficult decision. She wished Jeanette all the best.

"Like so many businesses in our community that are adjusting to these uncertain economic times, WCCO-TV, too, had to make one of these tough decisions," Adams Loyd said. "We wish Jeanette all the best. It's a difficult day for all of us today."
