Walz Has $1M To Defend Seat In Minn.'s 1st Dist.

ST. PAUL (AP) ― U.S. Rep. Tim Walz has slightly more than $1 million to spend during the final weeks of his re-election bid in southern Minnesota's 1st District.

The Democrat's campaign says he had $1.08 million in the bank at the end of September, after raising $470,000 from July through September.

Walz faces a challenge from Republican Brian Davis, a Mayo Clinic doctor.

Davis campaign manager Mike Spellings says the campaign's third-quarter numbers aren't immediately available. The reporting deadline is next Wednesday.

Davis has lagged Walz in fundraising.
