Wait For 2nd Minn. Senator Reaches 4th Season

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) ― Summer's start brings the undecided Minnesota Senate election to another dubious milestone. It's now officially a four-season affair.

The post-election fight to determine whether Democrat Al Franken or Republican Norm Coleman won has consumed all or parts of fall, winter, spring and now, summer.

The camps are awaiting a Minnesota Supreme Court ruling, which could propel Franken into the Senate or give Coleman another chance to make up a 312-vote deficit. Justices heard arguments in the case three weeks ago and their verdict could come at any time.

Minnesota has had a single U.S. senator while the election has moved through the courts.

Norm Coleman was born in New York City in 1949. Al Franken was born in New York City in 1951.
