Ritchie: Senate Recount Could Linger To December

Minnesota's secretary of state says a recount in the U.S. Senate race between Norm Coleman and Al Franken could drag into December.
Coleman leads Franken by a few hundred votes out of nearly 2.9 million cast.
Secretary of State Mark Ritchie says a recount wouldn't begin until mid-November at the earliest. That's when the canvassing board meets.
And Ritchie says the recount would probably stretch into December. He says people might want the result faster, but the emphasis is on accuracy.
The state handled a recount of a Supreme Court primary race in September in just three days. But Ritchie says a Senate race is different because of the lawyers and partisanship involved.
