Nation's Secretaries Of State Gather In Minn.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ― The nation's secretaries of state are finding their way to Minneapolis this week for an annual checkup on election laws and business administration technology.

The three-day National Association of Secretaries of State conference begins Friday. Among the agenda items: an update on presidential primary positioning for 2012, discussions about voter registration and a look at federal proposals for election changes.

Many secretaries serve as their state's top election officer. Some also have roles in registering corporations.

The conference includes a speech by Aneesh Chopra, the nation's chief technology officer.

Minnesota's extended Senate campaign will come up too, as a group that dissected the recount presents its conclusions about how it went.
