2008 Republican National Convention
The person whose job it is to make this summer's Republican National Convention runs like clockwork has four previous conventions under her belt.
Organizers of the convention that's planned for September in St. Paul say Rachel Card Kahler will serve as director of official proceedings.
Kahler was the deputy director at the 2004 convention and has carried out some of the same tasks dating back to the 1992 GOP convention.
She'll be responsible for the scheduling of participants and making sure proper parliamentary procedure is used when the nomination of John McCain and his vice presidential choice are carried out.
More than 50 people will work under her.

According to GOP.com, the Republican Party was born in the early 1850's by anti-slavery activists and individuals who believed that government should grant western lands to settlers free of charge. In 1860, Abraham Lincoln was elected as the first Republican Party president.
