Coleman Says He's Not Thinking About Ventura Yet

MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) ― Sen. Norm Coleman said he's not thinking about facing former Gov. Jesse Ventura in the 2008 Senate race.

Coleman told WDAY-AM that he'll start thinking about facing another opponent in the race only if Ventura registers before the Tuesday deadline. Until then, he said he's got nothing to say.

Ventura has hinted recently that he would run for Senate as an independent.

Coleman, a Republican, is seeking a second term. Democrat Al Franken has already filed to run.
