Report Assesses Health Of Minn. Civic Engagement

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) ― Minnesota is known as a politically engaged state, with tops in the nation voter turnout. But what's the state of Minnesota's civic health?

A report from the Center for Democracy and Citizenship aims to answer that question. It was due for release Monday afternoon at the state Capitol.

The report is coming out a year after a high-interest 2008 election and several months after the long Senate recount and court case concluded.

The center is affiliated with Augsburg College.

Secretary of State Mark Ritchie and state Senate Minority Leader David Senjem were scheduled to take part in the report's release.
