John Kline Returning For 2nd Week Of GOP Protest

WASHINGTON (AP) ― Minnesota Congressman John Kline is returning Tuesday for a second week of GOP protests demanding that Speaker Nancy Pelosi bring back lawmakers to vote on an energy package.

Kline was one of about two-dozen House Republicans at last Monday's protest. They're seeking a vote on a package which includes offshore drilling.

Pelosi sent a letter to House Republican leader John Boehner this past week, saying a majority of Republicans had voted against 13 Democratic-initiated energy and conservation bills.

Since the House has adjourned for its August recess, there are no TV feeds to C-Span and the microphones are turned off for the protest.
