Coleman Spokesman: Franken's Jokes Issue Not Over

ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) ― Al Franken may have convinced Democrats not to worry so much about the old jokes that offended some people, but Republicans say the issue isn't dead.

Franken won the Democratic endorsement in the race against Republican Senator Norm Coleman.

But Coleman campaign manager Cullen Sheehan says Franken wants to talk about Norm Coleman's record -- so Coleman won't be shy about talking about Franken's.

Sheehan says Franken is, quote, "unqualified, unfit and unprepared to be a United States senator."

At the Democratic nominating convention in Rochester today, Franken used the Republican assault as a badge of honor and touted himself as someone who can take the fight back to Republicans.
