Poll: Both Sen. Candidates Lose Popularity

While both Democratic candidate Al Franken and former Republican Sen. Norm Coleman have lost favor, Coleman has taken the bigger hit.

Both candidates in Minnesota's ongoing U.S. Senate race have taken a beating in the arena of public opinion, according to a new Star Tribune Minnesota Poll.
While both Democratic candidate Al Franken and former Republican Sen. Norm Coleman have lost favor, Coleman has taken the bigger hit.
Franken's 47-percent favorable rating taken just before the election has fallen four points to 43 percent in the current poll. His unfavorable rating was at 48 percent.
Coleman's favorable rating of 46 percent just before the election fell eight points to 38 percent in the current poll. Fifty-five percent of respondents said they had an unfavorable impression of him.
The poll of 1,042 Minnesota adults was taken April 20-30 and has a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
The full poll results will be published in the Sunday edition of the Star Tribune.
