Minn. Officials To Post Wish List For Public Works

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) ― The wish list for next year's state construction package goes public this week.

Minnesota Management and Budget will release requests submitted by state agencies and local governments for the 2010 bonding bill, a package of projects backed by state borrowing.

The requests usually swamp the amount of money available.

But the list serves as a starting point as Gov. Tim Pawlenty and lawmakers whittle down the projects to those that make it into the bonding bill. That's typically one of the main tasks of legislative sessions held in even-numbered years, when the two-year state budget is already set.

Pawlenty is required to give lawmakers his bonding proposals by mid-January.
