Minn. Senator Bitten By Bat, Treated For Rabies

(WCCO) A Minnesota state senator, and gubernatorial candidate, is being treated for rabies, but just as a precaution.

Republican Sen. Mike Jungbauer, of East Bethel, said he was bitten by a bat while in his workshop at home Sunday.

Jungbauer told WCCO-TV reporter Pat Kessler the bat bit him on the cheek under his eye and that he'll now need at least 17 shots around his eye as a precaution for rabies.

Jungbauer said he feels fine and this won't affect his campaign.
