A new CBS News poll suggests that most Americans haven't yet made up their minds about Governor Sarah Palin. She's the woman Senator John McCain wants to be the country's next Vice President.
In a poll taken Monday and Tuesday 26 percent of those asked said they have a favorable opinion of Palin. 13 percent have an unfavorable opinion and 60 percent said they were either undecided or don't know enough about her yet.
Palin has become a lightning rod of criticism since McCain surprised the political world by naming her his running-mate. The McCain campaign revealed on Monday that Palin's unmarried teenaged daughter is pregnant. And Democrats have attacked Palin as an un-tested and inexperienced leader.
In a speech to delegates at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., Palin tonight will try to convince undecided Americans that she complements McCain and will work with him to reform politics in Washington, DC.
The CBS poll also broke along party lines. Republicans were fans. Democrats generally were not.
But few voters said that including Palin on the Republican ticket will change their vote in November.
The poll had a margin of error of plus or minus four percent.
