Twin Cities Horse Farm May Have To Shut Down

PLYMOUTH (WCCO) ― Complaints from neighbors may force a Twin Cities horse riding farm to shut down.

Linden Horse Farm has been run by Vicki Linden since 1963.

She says since signing an agreement with the city of Plymouth three years ago, she has been the target of violations that may now cost her livelihood.

"The city is just asking Vicki to be able to maintain her property on a consistent basis throughout the year." said Joe Ryan.

Ryan says a tour of the farm turned up repeat violations.

"There was a brush pile, some manure that had not been removed from the property," said Ryan.

Linden said she has removed the manure, cleared the brush and controlled the smell.

She has no idea who is lodging complaints against her and the city keeps that information confidential.

"I have done everything within my power to follow the guidelines," said Vicki Linden.

A group of women who have children that take lessons at the ranch are helping Linden get in compliance with what the city wants.

Plymouth City council will take a vote tomorrow to decide if Linden will be given 30 days to remove her five horses from the property and shut down her business.

City officials say the council could decide to look at additional options or alternatives as well.
