Tazer the police dog has won a national title for the fifth time.
The 6-year-old Belgian Malinois was named the nation's best police dog last week in Lakeland, Fla., during the U.S. Police Canine Association's national field trials.
Tazer won the award four years in a row until last year, when his streak was broken. No other police dog has won the title more than twice, officials said.
Tazer's handler, Mower County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Jeff Ellis, has also won more national titles (five) than anyone else in the competition's history.
More than 100 dogs participated in the event.
