A black bear got a little too close for comfort at a home in western Minnesota.
A Norman County sheriff's deputy shot and killed the bear after it tried to get inside a farmhome near Perley over the weekend.
Minnesota DNR conservation officer Phil Seefeldt says sheriff's deputies were called to the home around 9 p.m. Saturday on a report that a bear had climbed onto a deck and then tried to claw through a screen door to get inside the house.
The bear was scared off, but returned a few minutes later and was shot.
Seefeldt was in contact by telephone with the deputies and gave the OK to shoot the bear. He says that decision was made because the bear was showing aggressive behavior.
Seefeldt says the bear weighed about 150 pounds.
