Savage Family Asks: Where's Waldo?

SAVAGE, Minn. (WCCO) ― A family in Savage is searching for Waldo.

Not the man typically found wearing a red-striped shirt and glasses, but rather, their pet wallaby.

Waldo the wallaby went missing Monday afternoon, after the winds kicked up and he escaped from his cage.

The 3-year-old, 35-pound wallaby -- which is similar to a kangaroo -- is said to be friendly but quite jumpy.

After a tree branch fell on top of the fence that surrounds the area he lives in at his home in Savage, Waldo jumped out and jumped through a neighbor's yard.

Several people said they have seen him since and he's even come back home for a brief moment but his owners said they couldn't catch him.

"We love the little guy," said Denell Lund, Waldo's owner. "He was part of our family. We're concerned he is just going to go farther and farther away, so we'd love to have him back."

If anyone spots Waldo, they are asked to contact the Savage Police Department.
