As children head out to trick-or-treat Saturday night, some parents might be worried about spreading the H1N1 flu virus.
"It's scary," said Jennifer Hauser.
But, it's not scary enough to keep them home.
"No, they'll still go out and have a good time," Hauser added.
Other parents were a little more nonchalant. One dad said he wasn't doing anything differently and had hardly thought about the virus at all.
"I don't know, if it happens, it happens," he said.
The Minnesota Department of Health has not issued any specific guidelines for Halloween and H1N1.
Experts with the MDH only suggest people refrain from trick-or-treating if they are sick. That goes for children and parents and people simply handing out the candy.
The virus can live on surfaces for two hours, which means it's not likely children will pick it up from handling candy. It's more likely to spread if one person coughs on another.
So, most experts say, if you're healthy, enjoy Halloween. Leave the scary stuff up to the children's costumes.
