Fargo Hospital Cuts 16 Positions
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) ―
Prairie St. John's in Fargo has cut 16 positions from its 400 full- and part-time hospital and clinic staff, citing an effort to increase efficiency.
Chief Financial Officer Tom Eide says the actual number of people impacted is fewer than 10. He says the other slots represent open positions that will not be filled.
Positions eliminated included office personnel and caretaker staff at the Fargo Prairie St. John's psychiatric hospital and at a clinic in neighboring Moorhead, Minn.
Prairie St. John's was purchased in September by Psychiatric Solutions Inc. based in Franklin, Tenn. At the time, Eide said the influx of capital from PSI would allow Prairie St. John's opportunities to expand staff, services and possibly physical space. He says that still is the goal.
