Lawyer Slams Hulk Hogan For O.J. Comparison

Hogan Gripes To Rolling Stone Magazine About Divorce, Saying He 'Gets' O.J.

NORTH BAY VILLAGE, Fl. (CBS) ― An attorney for Hulk Hogan's soon-to-be ex-wife, Linda Bollea, responded Wednesday to comments the former wrestler is said to have made to a nationally syndicated magazine.

According to several news organizations, Hogan told Rolling Stone magazine that he was insulted that his 48-year-old wife left him for "some shaggy-haired pool boy 30 years her junior."

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, goes on to say that he could have turned everything into a crime scene, like O.J., cutting everybody's throat. Hogan was presumably referring to O.J. Simpson, who was acquitted in the 1994 murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Simpson.

According to the Miami Herald, Hogan told the music magazine: ''I could have turned everything into a crime scene, like O.J., cutting everybody's throat." He added, "You live half a mile from the 20,000-square-foot home you can't go to anymore, you're driving through downtown Clearwater and see a 19-year-old boy driving your Escalade, and you know that a 19-year-old boy is sleeping in your bed, with your wife . . . I totally understand O.J. I get it.''

Bollea's attorney, Ray Rafool, slammed the former wrestler for his choice of words, saying he should have known better. "... He is an actor, he is PR savvy, they have PR people. He knows better than to say something like that if he is, in fact, kidding," Rafool said. "And here what you have is him explaining that he understands that O.J. did what he did."

Rafool added that his client was terrified. "It exemplifies her fears," he said. "And we're doing to do everything possible to protect her."

Hogan and Bollea are currently battling it out in a Florida divorce court.
