Body Found Inside Burning Vehicle In Wis.

(WCCO) The Sawyer County Sheriff's Department is investigating the suspicious death of a body found burning in a vehicle near Hayward, Wis.

Police said they were notified of a vehicle fire at a residence around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday and upon extinguishing the fire, found the deceased subject inside.

The vehicle was registered to the owner of the residence, according to police.

The body has been transferred to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death and the person's positive identification.

Law enforcement is treating the death as suspicious, pending autopsy results.
