2008 Area Watering Bans

Minneapolis
No watering restrictions.

St. Paul
No watering restrictions.

Anoka
Annual odd/even watering restrictions.

Apple Valley
Lawn watering is permitted only before 11 a.m. and after 6 p.m. each day between May 1 and September 30.
Restrictions do not apply to hand watering (hose must be attended).

Blaine
Tier 1 restrictions are in place from June 30, 2008 thru Sept. 15. 2008. Under Tier 1 restrictions, all properties with addresses that end with an odd number (such as 8801) may sprinkle on odd numbered calendar days and properties with addresses that end with an even number (such as 1100) may sprinkle on even numbered calendar days.

Bloomington
No watering restrictions.

Brooklyn Park
Annual odd/even restrictions from May 1 to Sept. 30.

Brooklyn Center
Annual odd/even watering restrictions from May 1 to Sept 30.

Burnsville
As of 2004, there is an annual odd/even watering ban between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Newly seeded or sodded lawns, flower baskets or other plants requiring daily watering, landscaping, and places like golf courses and athletic fields are exempt from the mandatory ban.

Chanhassen
Odd-even schedule corresponding to property address effective each year from May 1 to September 30.

Champlin
Annual even/odd restrictions from May 1 to Labor Day -- no watering between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Crystal
No restrictions; they get water from Minneapolis so follow those guidelines.

Coon Rapids
Annual odd/even restrictions from June 1 to Aug 31.

Cottage Grove
Annual odd/even restrictions.

Eagan
Annual odd/even restrictions.

Eden Prairie
Annual odd/even restrictions. No watering is allowed between noon and 5 p.m. on any day of the week.

Edina
Annual odd/even restrictions before 11 a.m. and after 5 p.m.

Elk River
Year-round odd/even restrictions with no sprinkling allowed between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Excelsior
No watering restrictions.

Farmington
Annual odd/even restrictions with no sprinkling or watering noon and 6 p.m. Hand-held watering with a hose is allowed, but hose must be attended.

Fridley
No watering restrictions.

Golden Valley
No watering restrictions.

Hopkins
The restrictions ban watering during the mid-day hours of 11 am to 5 pm and allow odd-even sprinkling at all other times. Watering is banned from 11 am to 5 pm

Hudson, Wis.
No watering restrictions.

Inver Grove Heights
Normal odd/even restrictions, plus noon to 5 p.m. Exceptions: If you have new sod, seed or landscaping, you do not need to follow the odd-even restrictions for unattended watering during the first 30 days following planting. You must, however, still abide by the midday ban from noon to 5 p.m.

Lake Elmo
Annual odd/even restrictions.

Lakeville
As of 2004, Lakeville has odd/even restrictions with no lawn-watering between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Maple Grove
No watering restrictions.

Maplewood
No watering restrictions.

Mendota Heights
No restrictions.

Minnetonka
Annual odd/even restrictions including no watering between 11a.m. and 5 p.m. May 1 to September 30. Watering with a hand-held hose can be done at any time, and permits for watering new sod or landscaping can be obtained at Minnetonka City Hall.

Moundsview
The City observes an Odd/Even watering ban from May 1 to September 30 of every year. (ie, odd numbered addresses will water on odd numbered calendar days.)

Oakdale
Year-round odd/even restrictions.

Plymouth
Plymouth prohibits outdoor lawn watering from noon to 5 p.m. on all days. At other times, water customers must also follow an odd/even schedule when sprinkling lawns.

Prior Lake
Annual odd/even restrictions including no watering between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. between May 1st through October 1st.

Richfield
No watering restrictions.

Robbinsdale
No watering is allowed between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. every day.

Roseville
No watering restrictions.

Rosemount
Odd/even restrictions from May 1 through Aug. 31 and no watering on either side is allowed between noon and 6 p.m. every day.

South St. Paul
No watering restrictions.

Savage
The City of Savage prohibits using water outside between noon and 5 p.m. Additionally, property owners are to refrain from watering every day and instead follow an odd/even schedule that coincides with the number in their property's address.

Shoreview
Odd/even restrictions from May 15 - Sept. 15.

St. Louis Park
Odd/even restrictions with no watering between noon and 6 p.m.

Stillwater
No watering restrictions.

Vadnais Heights
Odd/even restrictions from June 1st through Sept. 15 .

West St. Paul
No watering restrictions.

White Bear Lake
Water supply prohibited between 10:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. from May 1 through Sept. 30.

Woodbury
Year-round odd/even restrictions with no watering from noon to 5 p.m. Permits are available from Public Works for new seed and sod.
