Ferrellgas Statement On Minn. AG Lawsuit

Ferrellgas strongly believes that our business practices are both ethical and legal, and that's why we have turned the matter over to an impartial court on Wednesday. We regret that Attorney General Swanson felt that it was necessary to file suit as well, but we will vigorously defend ourselves and continue to protect the reputation we've worked hard to build over the last 70 years.
We believe that the Attorney General's office is attempting to impose unfair and burdensome requirements on Ferrellgas that would effectively regulate virtually every aspect of Ferrellgas' business dealings with Minnesota consumers, place Ferrellgas at a competitive disadvantage, and interfere with Ferrellgas' ability to deliver propane to thousands of Minnesota consumers on the terms that these customers prefer and expect.
Ferrellgas has been in business for more than 70 years and has approximately 1 million Customers in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. We feel confident that if we were not priced competitively, we would no longer be in business. We believe that we offer excellent service to our customers in the state of Minnesota and that they are smart enough to understand the value of doing business with Ferrellgas.
