Washington Co. Press Release On Elvis Painting

  Elvis is in the Building!

On February 5, 2008, the missing Elvis painting has been recovered and is in the possession of the Washington County Sheriff's Office. A "Hound Dog" or the threat of singing the "Jailhouse Rock" was not needed for the return of the $15,000 painting that was reported missing from the driveway of a West Lakeland Township home on January 30th. The painting was turned into the Sheriff's Office after the story was seen in the news. A passing motorist had confused the painting with the recycle bin items and "Saved" the painting. The painting was then given to the motorist's sister, an Elvis fan, who had it sitting in her car until she saw the story. The Oakdale woman then quickly contacted the Sheriff's Office and requested that the painting be "Returned to Sender". The owner of the painting has been notified and no charges are being filed. "Thank you, thank you very much."
