Crews are about to begin repairing the pedestrian walkways on the Highway 43 bridge in Winona.
MnDOT says the project also will include bridge joint cleaning and painting.
Pedestrians and bicyclists are still restricted from crossing the bridge until the repairs are completed. The project is scheduled to begin today (Monday) and is expected to be finished by mid-October, weather permitting.
The bridge across the Mississippi River was closed for about a week in early June. It reopened to vehicle traffic about a month later after corroded gusset plates were repaired or replaced.
During the latest project, there will be single lane closures from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Crews will work six days a week.
