For the first time, the White Earth Band of Chippewa has put an enrolled member in charge of the group's gambling operations.
The band says Eugene McArthur has been named to the general manager's job, effective immediately.
He's responsible for all gambling businesses within the reservation including the casino, hotel, event center and bingo hall.
McArthur replaces Liz Foster-Anderson who held the position from 2002 until she recently resigned.
McArthur has a bachelor's degree in economics from Moorhead State University and has experience in business management. He's also a former chairman of the band.
