Crash Kills Fetus; 4 Others Die In Crashes

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ― A pregnant woman lost her 4 1/2-month-old fetus in a vehicle crash over the weekend, while four Minnesotans were killed in other crashes in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The Minnesota State Patrol said Sunday that 28-year-old Katie Messer was a passenger in a car when it was hit broadside on Saturday in Scott County. She was injured and the accident caused a miscarriage.

In Mahnomen County, two people died in a two-car crash Saturday. Forty-nine-year-old John Fagre of Waubun and 71-year-old Lloyd Benson of Waubun died.

In Wright County, a 45-year-old Monticello man was killed Saturday night when he crashed his motorcycle.

And officials say a Minnesota motorcyclist was killed Friday night in Wisconsin's Pierce County. Forty-four-year-old Daniel Wolter was thrown from his motorcycle on Hwy. 29 near River Falls.
