Wedding Bumped For Bride's Brother's Football Game

WATKINS, Minn. (AP) ― If you happen to be on the guest list for the wedding of Charmagne Tessmer and Aaron Derichs in Watkins on Saturday, you should know that it's at 11 a.m. -- not 3 p.m. like it says on the invitation.

That's because Tessmer's younger brother, Ivan, is a starting lineman for the Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles. Which happens to be playing the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Buccaneers in the state Class 2A football semifinal.

The game is at 5:45 p.m., which Tessmer's family decided was cutting it too close for a 3 p.m. wedding. So last weekend, the St. Cloud Times reports, they called all 320 invited guests and asked them to show up four hours ahead of schedule.

That means Ivan gets to be at the wedding. And the bride and groom will be at the game. Look for them -- they'll be the ones in wedding dress and tuxedo.

-------

The couple started dating when Tessmer was a senior and Derichs was a junior.
