Death Of Waterville Man, 24, Ruled Accidental

WATERVILLE, Minn. (AP) ― Le Sueur County authorities have ruled as accidental the death of a 24-year-old man whose body was found in a Waterville alley.

A coroner's report says acute alcohol intoxication and hypothermia contributed to Christopher A. Poehler's death.

Poehler's body was found Monday about 6:30 a.m. Police say he lived in a nearby apartment.

Witnesses told police they had seen Poehler in a nearby bar late Sunday night.

Coroner John H. Berg says Poehler also suffered a head injury before the hypothermia set in, but the injury didn't contribute to his death.

Poehler's body was found in alley used as a cut-across between some apartments and the Corner Bar, where a customer said Poehler left at 11 the night before he was found.
