The Minnesota Vikings are reminding fans to be careful about tickets they buy through third parties.
Chief marketing officer Steve LaCroix says "a few hundred" counterfeit tickets were sold for Minnesota's game against Green Bay on Oct. 5, over the Internet and on the streets near the Metrodome before kickoff.
LaCroix says ticket fraud has been a problem in the past, but not to that level. Minneapolis police are investigating. The NFL also has an investigation into counterfeiting rings that work around the country.
The team's ticket office, Ticketmaster and the NFL's TicketExchange Web site are the only sanctioned sources for Vikings tickets.
The Vikings host Baltimore on Sunday. The game is officially a sellout, with scattered seats remaining.
