Truck's Lift Knocks Out Parts Of Moorhead Bridge

MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) ― Authorities say a truck's hydraulic lift hit the underside of a bridge on Interstate 94 and knocked out huge chunks of the bridge, injuring four people and backing up traffic for miles.

Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist said the crash happened shortly after noon. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. Authorities said parts of the bridge fell on a car, smashing the hood and windshield.

Bergquist said the 8th Street bridge's concrete pillars suffered significant damage from the lift on the Ken's Sanitation truck.
