Charges: Man Kidnapped Girl, Assaulted Her Father

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ― A man accused of kidnapping his 15-year-old ex-girlfriend and assaulting her father has been charged for those crimes, according to Minneapolis Police.

A report from the Hennepin County Attorney's Office states that on July 10, 2008 police went to the girl's home in response to a 911 call. Witnesses said that 19-year-old Tony Montez McGee of Minneapolis went there to pick up some of his belongings, despite a protection order requiring that he have no contact with the girl.

McGee and the girl's father then got into an argument, according to police. McGee later admitted to pushing the man down and throwing a baseball-sized rock at his head, then dragging the girl away by her arm. The father was treated at Hennepin County Medical Center for a fractured skull.

She later told police that she tried to get away, but McGee wouldn't let her. She added that she slept briefly that night in a park near some railroad tracks.

The report also states that police found McGee the following morning, and he tried to run when he saw the approaching officers.

Court documents say McGee has been charged with kidnapping, two assault charges, and violation of a protection order. His first appearance in court will be Tuesday, July 15.
