Minn. Officials Looking For Convicted Rapist

ST. PAUL (AP) ― The Minnesota Department of Corrections is looking for a Level 3 sex offender.

Officials say a warrant was issued for Timothy Ray VanBuren because he hasn't met the conditions of his release. VanBuren was convicted in 1994 for first-degree criminal sexual conduct and in 2004 for third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The 46-year-old VanBuren was released in December from the prison at Willow River/Moose Lake and was under supervision in Hennepin County. His last known address was in north Minneapolis.

The Department of Corrections said VanBuren has been considered a fugitive since Tuesday.

Anyone with information on VanBuren's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the DOC tipline at (651) 603-0026.
