Protesters Hold Tea Parties On Tax Day

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ― Protesters in several Minnesota cities plan to hold tea parties Wednesday to speak out against rising federal government spending.

The rallies are being held to mark the day federal income tax returns are due.

Rallies will be held in 16 cities, including Austin, Bemidji, Brainerd, Duluth, Fairmont, Mankato, Milaca, North Branch, Rochester, St. Cloud, and Owatonna.

The largest rally will be in St. Paul at the Capitol. That one starts at 5 p.m. and includes speeches and a 7:30 p.m. tea-dumping ceremony.
