Edgy T-Shirts Cause Stir At Mankato School

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) ― Students at Mankato East High School are being asked to leave their senior T-shirts at home because administrators consider them inappropriate.

Two young entrepreneurs are selling the shirts that feature a mock class motto -- "0.08 - We're over the limit" and images of drugs, a drinking game and a sex act.

Parents complained about the shirts to school officials, who have informed seniors that wearing the shirts to school could result in a suspension.

Superintendent Ed Waltman says he's "extremely disappointed" because educators would hope the students would know the shirts were nowhere near appropriate.

However, officials say nothing can be done about students making the T-shirts. They are being sold for $11.
