A St. Paul man will be on probation for up to two years for driving a car while his ex-girlfriend and her baby clung to the hood.
Twenty-four-year-old Rarity Abdullah pleaded guilty to child endangerment in the July 2007 incident. He was given a one-year stayed sentence and credit for 16 days served.
According to the complaint, Abdullah and Blythe Jarrett, the child's mother, had a disagreement outside her apartment in St. Paul. Jarrett said she was trying to stop Abdullah from taking her car, which she needed to get to a Minneapolis college where she was taking classes.
The car reached speeds of up to 50 mph with Jarrett and her 4-month-old daughter on the hood.
Jarrett also pleaded guilty to child endangerment and was sentenced last December.
