'Puke And Snot' Actor Dies In Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ―

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is announcing the death of Minneapolis actor Joe Kudla, who was half of the "Puke and Snot" comedy team for more than 30 years.

The 58-year-old Kudla died Monday at his home in northeast Minneapolis apparently of a heart attack. There will be memorial for him at this year's festival, which starts Aug. 16 in Shakopee.

His performing partner, Mark Sieve, tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press they were supposed to go over new material on Monday, but Kudla didn't return calls. With a bit of gallows humor, he says Kudla had a good excuse.

The two actors teamed up in 1974 and a year later "Puke and Snot" was born, with Kudla as Thomas Snot. They did their act of swordplay and medieval jokes ever since.
