None Injured When Small Plane Flips Near Elrosa

ELROSA, Minn. (AP) ― Two Litchfield men were not injured Saturday after the plane they were in flipped while trying to land in Lake George Township.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner said the pilot, 27-year-old Eric Allen Doering, owns property in the area and was flying in to check on it with 58-year-old Ray Allen Doering.

Sanner says the younger Doering came in for the landing in a field around 10:45 a.m. when he hit a patch of soft snow that flipped the plane.

Sanner says Doering told deputies he had made similar landings without incident earlier Saturday.

Snowmobilers in the area helped bring emergency workers to the plane and a local farmer plowed a path through the field so the plane could be removed.
