Crews plan again to flush a Minneapolis storm sewer with water to try to keep a gasoline spill from polluting the Mississippi River.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation will close the ramps from Hennepin Ave./Lyndale Ave. to westbound I-394 and westbound I-94. The ramps will remain closed until 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Several thousand gallons of gas flowed into a storm sewer that empties into the Mississippi, near the construction site of the new Interstate 35W bridge.
On Wednesday, the Minneapolis Fire Department tried using about 30,000 gallons of water to flush the gasoline from the sewer. A contractor was able to recover about 2,000 gallons of gas mixed with water at the sewer outlet.
Officials came up with a new plan to flush the sewer with much more water. Agencies will monitor for gasoline vapor in the sewer.
