Mpls. Teacher Pleads Guilty To Child Porn Charges
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ―
A 53-year-old Eden Prairie man pleaded guilty to having child pornography on two computers, according to Hennepin County court documents.
Police say the investigation started when a woman reported that she'd heard from Scott Charles Slocum's wife that he had child porn on his computer and had shown it to her, going so far as to send his wife an explicit image involving an infant. The woman also said that Slocum was a teacher for Minneapolis Public Schools.
On April 5, 2007, police went to Slocum's home and his wife allowed them to perform an initial search of his computers. Police say they found numerous child pornographic images and got a search warrant, after which they found child porn on three of the five computers.
Court documents describe the images of children, some appearing to be as young as 2 years old, being sexually abused in a wide variety of ways.
Slocum pleaded guilty to two child porn possession charges, but a third was dropped as part of the plea agreement, said the court. He was sentenced to time in the county workhouse and is on probation Friday.
